Chris Brown is getting candid about his previous relationship with Rihanna, admitting that both parties were mutually combative towards each other.

In Brown’s documentary titled “Chris Brown: Welcome To My Life,” the “Privacy” singer details what transpired the night he viciously attacked Rihanna eight years ago.

According to Brown, it all began after the two ran into a woman Brown had a relationship with at a Clive Davis pre-Grammys party.

This particular woman had been the source of trust issues in their relationship and Brown warned her to stay away from them. So it was to both of their surprise to see the unidentified woman at the event, recalled Brown.

After leaving the celebrity party, Rihanna inquired about the woman. The “Love on the Brain” singer flew into a jealous rage when she saw a text from the woman informing Brown that she would be at the party.

“She starts going off, she throws the phone, ‘I hate you!’, whatever, whatever, she starts hitting me, we’re in a little Lamborghini, you know she’s fighting me,” Brown said of Rihanna.

Brown said he insisted to the Bajan beauty that he was unaware the woman was going to appear at the party, but Rihanna wasn’t convinced.

“Like I remember she tried to kick me, just like her beating sh*t, but then I really hit her,” Brown claimed. “With a closed fist, like I punched her, and it busted her lip, and when I saw it I was in shock, I was ‘[expletive], why did I hit her like that?”

Brown continued, “So from there she’s…spitting blood in my face, it raised me even more. It’s a real fight in the car, and we driving in the street.”

Brown said he pulled over the luxury car in Hancock Park to diffuse the situation. He claimed at that moment Rihanna took the car keys out of the ignition and pretended to throw them out the window. She was, in fact, sitting on the keys.

As Brown looked for the keys outside of the car, Rihanna screamed out “Help, he’s trying to kill me.”‘

Brown ultimately plead guilty to one count of felony assault and served probation for the beatdown.

However, Brown said the night in 2009 was a microcosm of their relationship. Brown said the two constantly physically abusive to each other.

‘I still love Rihanna, but I’m just going, to be honest – we would fight each other, she would hit me, I would hit her, but it never was OK. It was always a point to where we talk about it like, ‘What the [expletive] are we doing'”‘

In a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Rihanna spoke about the difficulties of ending her relationship with Brown.

“I lost my best friend – like everything I knew switched in a night, and I couldn’t control that,” she tearfully told Winfrey. “So, I had to deal with that and that’s not easy for me to understand, interpret and it’s not easy to interpret on camera, not with the world watching.”

The two have since gone their separate ways as it’s been reported Rihanna is dating Saudi billionaire Hassan Jameel.

Media But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness.

No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful.
