The older brother of Nicki Minaj is currently on trial for raping his stepdaughter, devious actions that occurred as much as four times a week.
One day after opening statements, an expert in child sex abuse testified Friday that Jelani Maraj penetrated the 11-year-old alleged victim vaginally and orally.
“I can say with a reasonable degree of certainty that (the girl’s) medical exam can prove penetration,” prosecution witness Dr. Aaron Miller told the court.
According to prosecutors, Maraj repeatedly raped the adolescent and was only busted after his 8-year-old stepson walked in on him committing the heinous crime.
Maraj’s defense contends his ex-wife is only looking for a multi-million dollar payday. Jacqueline Robinson allegedly told Nicki Minaj that she could make the allegations go away if she were to pay her $25 million.
Minaj footed their wedding bill, shelling out $30,000 for the ceremony.
“There are 25 million reasons why this child was brainwashed to lie and make up these charges,” said defense lawyer David Schwartz.
Maraj, arrested in December 2015, faces 15 years to life in prison if convicted on the top count.
Minaj — whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj — will be the prosecutor’s star witness. She is expected to take the stand in her brother’s defense.
The trial resumes Monday.
