Back in 2015, Fetty Wap was honored with the key of Paterson, New Jersey. As for his car keys, someone should have taken those away from him early Friday morning.
New York City police arrested Fetty at around 1 a.m. for drunken driving and a slew of other charges after he was pulled over for speeding on the Gowanus Expressway in Brooklyn. Police clocked Wap’s Mercedes Benz at 100 mph.
To make matters worse Wap — whose real name is Willie Maxwell — handed officers an expired New Jersey license. He was then subjected to a field sobriety test, at which he failed by blowing a .09 — slightly above the legal limit of .08
Following his arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court Friday, Fetty defended his high speed driving, stating he’d never harm motorists.
“I would never put people in danger,” he said. “It was 2 o’clock in the morning. There wasn’t no cars behind us.”
He was released without bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 12.
