Cardi B minded her manners while accepting her iHeartRadio Music Award on Sunday.
Cardi picked up the Best New Artist accolade, and thanked a slew of people including her family, fiance Offset, and the Bardi Gang. She also gave a special shout-out to the naysayers.
“And I want to thank my haters too because,” she cackled, adding “they be downloading my stuff so they can hear it and talk crap about it, but it benefits me!”
This isn’t the first time the Bronx rapper has showed appreciation for her critics.
Late last year, fellow female emcee Azealia Banks said Cardi isn’t Black and credited her success to colorism. Cardi is of Trinidadian and Dominican descent.
Soon after Banks’ criticism, Cardi posted a video of Banks jamming to “Bodak Yellow” in a nightclub. She captioned the video with a thanks to Banks for supporting her music.
As the old adage goes: “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.” We see you, Cardi!
