The woman who claims Trey Songz physically attacked her is ecstatic about the singer’s arrest.
Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Neverson, was booked on suspicion of domestic violence in Los Angeles early Monday morning.
According to jail records, Songz was arrested at 6:30 a.m. by the LAPD’s Hollywood Division. He was subsequently released after posting $50,000 bail a few hours later.
TMZ reports that Songz was accompanied by his attorney, Shawn Holley.
The 33-year-old singer took to Twitter to defend himself against the allegations brought against him by Andrea Buera.
“For weeks my lawyers & Mgmt have asked me not to comment on this and I initially agreed but this morning I feel that my fam, the women that raised me, my friends & fans especially the youth need to hear from me,” he wrote. “I am being lied on and falsely accused for someone’s personal gain.”
Buera, 27, claims Songz assaulted her following a NBA All-star party last month. Buera alongside her attorney Lisa Bloom recounted the terrifying ordeal during a press conference last week.
“I was attending an afterparty when Trey began yelling at me, choking at me … and ultimately knocked me to the ground,” Buera recalled of the alleged quarrel. “While I was on the ground, he continued punching me and did not stop until his security guard pulled him off me.”
Bloom is ready to take on the R&B crooner is court and is focused on seeking justice for Buera.
“We are delighted at the news that Trey Songz has been arrested for felony domestic assault against my client Andrea Buera,” Bloom told Page Six.
“Andrea will fully cooperate with the investigation and is ready, willing, and able to testify at trial, should that be necessary. We urge any witnesses to contact the Los Angeles police.”
