Nicki Minaj isn’t happy with the number two spot.
After it was revealed, Minaj’s album “Queen” finished second after Travis Scott’s “Astroworld” on the Billboard 200 Chart, Minaj claims she knows exactly why her fifth release wasn’t number one — Kylie Jenner’s star power.
“I put my blood sweat & tears in writing a dope album only for Travis Scott to have Kylie Jenner post a tour pass telling ppl to come see her & Stormi. lol. Im actually laughing,” she tweeted Sunday.
Scott and Jenner have been together since April of last year and welcomed a baby girl in February.
Minaj also added that Scott is fully aware that “he doesn’t have the #1 album this week,” irrespective to his Billboard status.
She continued: “I love my fans for the #1 album in AMERICA! … 4 albums in, #1 in 86 countries.”
The “Barbie Tingz” artist says changes in the music industry has impacted sales for music’s top performers. In Scott’s case, the rapper’s merchandise has helped his album sales, claims Minaj.
“My first album sold 400K. No one is doing that with debut albums now … I looked at the numbers the Carters, Kanye, Nas, etc recently did.”
“Travis sold 200K in his first week of clothes alone,” she wrote. “I spoke to him last night & he said he’s been selling clothes b4 the music.
“Billboard says they’ll change the rules cuz of this, so it should be changed now!”
According to TMZ, Scott is said to be insulted by Minaj’s theory and asked to switch seats away from his rapping peer at tonight’s MTV’s Video Music Awards.
As of late, Minaj has used the social media microblogging platform as an outlet to air out her grievances.
Just last week, Minaj got into a Twitter feud with her ex-boyfriend Safaree. The “Chun-Li” rapper accused him of being a cheat who used her credit cards without permission. She also revealed she funded his hair transplant.
Additionally, Minaj’s called Wanna’s World a “hoe” after the culture writer suggested Minaj mature in her sound. Wanna was subsequently fired from her internship.
