Nicki Minaj’s new relationship with felon Kenneth Petty is causing quite a stir on social media.

Despite Petty’s extensive criminal record — including convictions for attempted rape and manslaughter — his murky history hasn’t dissuaded Minaj one bit.

As the two’s romance heats up, more details about the 40-year-old are being revealed.

According to TMZ, Petty and Minaj (born Onika Tanya Maraj) are childhood sweethearts, having dated in high school.

Minaj confirmed that she has known Petty – who goes by the street name Zoo – before she was a rap superstar.

She responded to rapper Frenchie’s Instagram post that stated the two are very familiar with each other with exclamation points.

Sources told the entertainment website that Minaj believes Petty is a reformed bad boy, and the “Queen” rapper is filled with happiness.

Petty is an alleged member of the Mac Baller Brims, a set of the national Bloods gang. In 2014, the New York Post touted the gang as one of the most dangerous in the city.

In several videos and pictures on Minaj’s Instagram page, the two appears to throw up gang signs.

Minaj’s rap nemesis Cardi B is also a member of the Blood gang, which she confirmed in an in-depth interview with GQ.

“When I was 16 years old, I used to hang out with a lot of Bloods,” Cardi said. “I used to pop off with my homies. And they’d say, ‘Yo, you really get it poppin’. You should come home. You should turn Blood.’ And I did. Yes, I did. And something that—it’s not like, oh, you leave. You don’t leave. Stripping changed my life. When I was a stripper, I didn’t give a fuck about gangs, because I was so focused on making money.”

The “I Like It” rapper advised young people to not intermingle with gangs.

“That’s why I don’t talk about it much. Because I wouldn’t want a young person, a young girl, to think it’s okay to join it. You could talk to somebody that is considered Big Homie and they will tell you: ‘Don’t join a gang.’ The person that I’m under, she would tell you, ‘Don’t join a gang.’ It’s not about violence. It’s just like—it doesn’t make your money.”

Cardi B and Minaj have been feuding for most of the year, which Cardi labeled “bad business.”

Media But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness.

No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful.
